District Agriculture Marketing Committee (DAMC)
District Agriculture Marketing Committee (DAMC), Saitual was constituted pursuant to the Notification of the Agriculture and farmers Welfare department for smooth and effective implementation of price support programme of notified crops under Handholding Scheme 2024. The four notified crops consist of Ginger (Sawhthing), Turmeric (Aieng), Mizo Chilli (Hmarchate), & Broom (Hmunphiah). DAMC is responsible for supervising and monitoring of Primary Collection Centres (PCC) and Secondary Collection Centres (SCC) for sale of notified crops in and outside Mizoram. Primary Collection Centres are set up at each village of the district whereas there are currently 7 SCCs in the District. The Secondary Collection Centres are operated by a cluster of Primary societies or existing Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS). They are responsible for receiving, storing, auctioning crops, negotiating with buyers and ensuring sales at government notified rates.
